Fangbone!

Fang bone is a kid barbarian that other warriors think is weak. He goes to the real world and gets an army of third graders to help him defeat the dirt devil.
This is my favorite book because it is action packed. For example, Fang bone has to fight many villains like the Dirt Devil, the Hound Snake, and Lord King-Bat. This book is great!
I loved this book, and I give it five paws!

The Mysterious Goblet of Fire!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is the best book I have read. This book is the 4th in the series. At the very beginning, a new teacher takes the job for defense against the dark arts. To make things worse, The Triwizard tournament comes to Hogwarts, and when Harry thinks everything’s okay, he mysteriously gets accepted into The Triwizard Cup. During the story he does challenges including dragons, merpeople, and a maze. Also in the story there are funny parts, fights, and the worst villain of all, Voldemort.

I really like this book because there are fights and a lot of action. For example, Malfoy was making fun of Harry and got turned into a ferret. Another reason I like this book is when Harry does the dragon challenge, which was to get the golden egg away from its dragon mother. To make thinks worse, he has to get it away from the meanest dragon of them all. He calls his broom and flies out of the arena to get the dragon away from the egg.

There is only one thing I hate about this book though; it is the fact that the book ends.

This book is one of the best books I have ever read, and I give it five paws.

Collins is on Fire!

My favorite book is called Catching Fire, It’s about Katniss, a teenager, with her friend Peeta; they are from the district 12. They are going to fight in the Quarter Quell. That is when all of the past victors of the Hunger Games are going to fight. People start to bomb the arena, the question is: will she survive the bombs that were fired in the arena?
I like the book because Suzanne Collins puts details in her action. For example, in the book Katniss threw a spear right down a teenager’s throat with blood dripping down his slick neck. Another example is when a boy stabbed his trident through a man’s bloody chest. It’s a very good book with action!
I insist you to read this book and the others, and I give this book 5 paws!

Pedro, Life on the Open Sea

Will Pedro come back to Spain alive? Where is he? Does the sea ever stop stretching on the horizon? All of these questions repeatedly run through Pedro’s head as the journey across the sea to uncharted lands. They think they are heading toward Asia, when really they really are heading toward America. Pedro is only about twelve, but he was hired to be ship’s boy on the trip across the seven seas. You’ll be pulled in, with lots of twists and turns, always wanting to read more to see if he makes it alive. The whole book is told by the point of view of Pedro, and it’s told like you’re reading his journal.

The author did a really good job writing this book, and it shows what life might have been like in years past. Like how a young sailor might of felt, being far from home, not being the least bit sure where they are.

It keeps you wondering “What if I was Pedro”. I think this is a great book for all audiences, leaving behind the wonder of life long ago. I give this book 5 paws!

The Lightning Theif

Do you know how it feels to discover that you are a demigod? Percy from the book The Lightning Thief did! A demigod is a half human, half god.
Percy is a boy that lives with his mom and step-dad (he never knew who his dad was). Then one day his best friend take him to a demigod camp and discovers that he is son of Poseidon. When he got there his mom was and crushed by a Minotaur. He discovers that she is alive but, will he get here back and go back to New York with his mom and step-dad? I will leave the rest for you to find out!

I love the book The Lightning Thief because there is a lot of fighting. An example of this is when Percy fought against the Minotaur to try to save his mom. The book is also adventurous! An example is when Percy got to Mt.Olympus and he had to roam the palace then stood up to Zeus, and tried to get his mom back from the underworld. That’s why I like the book the Lightning Thief.

If you like adventure, action, and romance I really recommend the book, The Lightning Thief. I give this book 5 paws.

The Mark of Athena Book Review

The Mark of Athena is the third book in Rick Riordan’s Heroes of Olympus series. In this book Annabeth has to find the mark of Athena and save Athena’s Greek statue. If she doesn't succeed, the Romans and the Greeks will never unite. Will she succeed?

I really liked this book. It has a lot of action, like when Percy defeats the giant, Otis. The author uses almost the best action words I've ever read. Riordan puts in some funny “inside jokes” like this:  “There is a hole in the dam, there is a dam/damn hole!” It’s funny, yeah, I know. Riordan is one of my favorite authors, and I liked this book.
If you like action, and, seriousness, and Humor, you should try and find The Mark of Athena. I give this book 4 paws.

The Night Flyers

If you are a person who likes mysteries, I have a question for you. Have you ever found a mystery book that you really like? Well, The Night Flyers is a great mystery book.

The main character, Pam, has a loft (a shed for birds) of pigeons, and somebody called Armigor wants to buy them, but Pam doesn't want to sell them. Pam thinks that Armigor is a German spy. Suddenly her pigeons start to disappear. Pam is convinced that Armigor is the one stealing them. Do you think Pam will get her pigeons back? Read the book to find out.

I really like this book because it has a lot of action and mysteries. An example of an action part is when Pam accidentally goes onto Armigor’s hideout. An example of a mystery part is when Pam cannot figure out who stole her pigeons. This is why I really like this book.

So, if you like mysteries and action books, I highly recommend this book for you. I give this book 5 paws.

Gregor the Overlander!

Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be dropped into another world just by going into your laundry? Gregor from the book Gregor the Overlander did!
Gregor lives in New York, an apartment building with his little sister Boots, 2, his other sister Lizzie, 9, sick grandma, 65, and mother. While going to laundry room he gets sucked into the air vent and dropped into another world called the underland! He finds himself in a castle with his little sister. He gets found by cockroaches called the crawlers and they call his sister a princess just because she has a dirty diaper. People think he is the “warrior” in a prophecy that a person named Sandwich made. He has conflicts with giant rats, talking bats and lots of human sized cockroaches. Will he complete the prophecy, survive, and find his way home?
I like the book a lot. It was full action. An example is when Gregor was fighting against the Giant Rats when trying to save Boots’ life! That’s why I like the story Gregor the Overlander.
If you like fantasy, action, and adventure books I really recommend this book for you.

I give this book 5 paws (if I could give more I would)!

Percy's Back!

Percy’s been in months of slumber. Just like Jason from the last book, he's had his memory wiped by Juno (or Hera, whatever) and has been sent to another camp, camp Jupiter, a roman camp, to unite the Greeks and Romans.  He's also got new friends at his side, and he's going to need all the help he can get. They have been sent to unleash the god of death, Death, since without him the demigod’s enemies cannot die and just continue to re-form, although the demigod’s can’t say the same for themselves.     They also have to get past the newly re-born giants, eventually to try to defeat the evil earth goddess in later books who basically wants to destroy all human civilization, all within one week. That’s what the new book, The Son of Neptune is all about.

I love this book and I’m sure you will too. Rick Riordan does a great job mixing the myths of old with modern technology. Such as saying the amazon warriors from Greece run Amazon, the online shopping service. He creates his own world of demigods such as Percy and monsters as if it’s right behind our backs. Its action packed and funny, and practically no moment is dull! They face a lot of challenges along the way like the giant born to kill Hades. The only problem is he’s immortal in his birthplace, Alaska.

Once you begin you can’t seem to stop reading, always wanting to know what happens next. I think this book is great and I recommend this to anyone who likes adventure, or who just likes a good story. Trust me, it’s a great book!I give it five paws!
